Hi! I'm Monica

Welcome to my world! Born in New York and proudly Haitian-bred, my journey has been anything but ordinary. Let me take you on a ride through my life's adventures, passions, and pursuits.

I'm a travel-loving, laughter-inducing, food-obsessed city girl with a story to tell. My love for travel was inspired by my immigrant parents who journeyed out of necessity, paving the way for me to explore the world through privilege. That blue (and black) passport have truly made a difference!

My Haitian grandmother instilled in me a deep love for cooking and entertaining, keeping me close to home with her delicious recipes and warm hospitality. My grandfather, a self-made man, taught our family that we could achieve anything with commitment and discipline.

With these strong foundations, I followed the rules (mostly), completed the required schooling, and ventured into the real world. Despite the successes and accolades, I found myself longing for more than the 9-5 rat race. It took years to realize and embrace the privilege of being part of a generation that can rewrite its own story.

Today, I'm a traveling diplomat, exploring the globe and sharing my experiences. My cookbook, "Road to Table," is a testament to my culinary adventures and is available on Amazon. Additionally, my children's book series, "Riley Explores," also on Amazon, takes young readers on exciting journeys through various careers.
